Picked up a 1983 Mercury 7.5 and was checking it out today. One of the wire’s shielding was completely deteriorated, and when I touched the wire, the wire turned to dust. I am new to boat engines so I am looking for some help IDing the wire. Looks like it runs from the CDI to the stop switch? If that is correct, what type of wire should I replace with? I’m guessing I won’t be finding a direct part, and it would probably just be easier to get the wire type and cut a new one. Any help is greatly appreciated.
