Hi,
The rubber stopper should be at the top of the stainless eye.
The boat should come to rest when the stainless eye and the rubber on the post contact.
For practicality I would move the post with the rubber stopper higher up, and push the boat a bit back.
Hopefully the Bow will come clear of the winch drum, or even better try and extend the arm with the rubber stopper.
That being said assuming you don’t want additional expenses.
Otherwise EZ LOADER and other makes can provide you with the right post and winch assembly.

Looks to me like the post you have is too tall. Back when I worked at the shop, we always made the adjustments so that the top of the winch's drum was about level with the bow eye on the boat. If it is 'retail new', I'd think the dealer would get you the correct height post w/o any hassles.

Otherwise, you'd have to buy a new post or get that one 'tailored'.

Either way, make sure the trailer is fitted to the boat so that your tongue weight is proper, especially if the boat moves fore or aft.
