Same Old S__t!
My 07 Sea Ray 19’Sport with 3.5 I/O has “180 wheel turn” BEFORE the boat will turn the same way…

YES! I already checked the Power steering pump fluid…

Yes! I already change the entire steering cable out…

NO! The motor is not loose when I try to push it back-and-forth so the Kimball is not bad .

And Still, I could not fix the problem and I don’t understand if it’s something to do with the push rod hydraulics in the back that are bad, or I’m just getting bad advice…

Any Ideas…?

1. When this happens have you looked at outdrive (when not running) and see if the 180* steering wheel movement happens before drive moves?

2. If 1 is the same issue, then confirm steering cable at back of boat moves the steering lever that attaches to the outdrive transom vertical steering pin.

Note power steering assist and pump ONLY ASSIST the steering.
It will NOT cause the issue you describe.
The steering cable and the steering column (rack and pinion or helical type) are all that control the steering.

3. What type of steering column do you have? Rack and pinion or helical?
