Hi there. I've been looking at postings on this subject as well as Calders mechancial repair book. I have recently begun to get black smoke and soot from exhaust and from my understanding the issue with my engine is most likely the fuel injectors or exhaust back pressure.
I am wondering if the fact that the engine starts right up and then slowly dies after a minute (I have tried with fuel flow high and low and in between) is an indicator of the direction I should take next?
The black smoke and soot just started happening, I have used engine power on weekends in May and June without noticing anything outside a little bit at start up until she warmed up.
Thanks for reading and thoughts.
Jonathan
