SB DD 6V92TA will not start, port starts fine. sb used to start with parallel switch after port running. Now just clicks, batteries are fine. trying to troubleshoot wiring first, then solenoid and switch before pulling starter. any ideas?

Hi,

If the starter solenoid is clicking then the wiring is likely ok.

I used to keep a steel bar in my kit to jump the starter at the solenoid. But, if you aren't careful, that could go very wrong. The bar could weld to the terminals because of the high amps. Especially on 24 volt systems.
Obviously gloves are needed if you try this.

Another method would be to unscrew the cap on the end of the solenoid and use a tool to push the solenoid contacts in until they bottom out. If the engine cranks then the solenoid is probably bad. If nothing happens then the starter motor is likely bad. If the engine doesn't crank but you see the battery cable "jump" then check to make sure that the engine isn't locked.

Good luck.

You might try cleaning all the cable connections, including the ground.
Clicking can be a poor connection, pitted solenoid contacts, low voltage, bad ground.
Put a meter on the battery cable where it connects to the solenoid when trying to start.
