I have a 2006 Johnson 110 saltwater edition. Was running great and when I got to the launch started running rich blowing large amounts of smoke and smelled extremely rich. Put it in gear and died. It would crank back up but then would die. Got it home and it ran just enough to flush the motor out. Any ideas?

It’s a 115 let me try a picture of the data plate, model number: J115PLSDA

That makes more sense !

One of the carbs flooding ?

Primer valve defective ?

Primer valve remining energised due to defective key switch or other electrical fault ?

Primer valve set to the manual position?

No on flooding but the defective key switch sounds like something. I was going to replace it regardless. It’s seen better days. I will check the primer valve also.
