New member here trying to change propshaft oil seal on 2006 Mercury 5hp 4 stroke. I have the bearing carrier out and propshaft removed and the mercury shop manual says the propshaft bearing must be removed in order to remove and replace the oil seal. Am hoping someone here can tell me how to remove the bearing from the carrier. The manual calls for a special puller which I don't have so looking for another way to accomplish it.
Also, the parts diagram in the manual shows part #53 bearing and #54 oil seal. it doesn't show a second oil seal. Wondering is their one or two oil seals? Thanks.
