3 cyl 50 hp Evinrude 50 running issues.

[FONT=&quot]Hey guys, tried out my new to me 50 and it did not run well.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Fires right up, no issues[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Warms up well on fast idle.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Slow acceleration is issue one. It does a fast ch-ch-ch stutter until I give it more throttle and then it clears up and then it runs nicely. Electrical??[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]It has no real top end. It feels like there should be more revs but there’s not. Prop size issue? Tune up issue?[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Back at the dock, it won’t stay running at an idle while I wait for the other boats to clear so I have to do fast idle circles to keep it going.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]The compression on this motor isn’t wonderful 105-110 ish, so should be ok. No?[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]What do you guys think? Carb rebuild?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]What about the stutter? That feels like ignition.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Edit: no tach, harness coming. Mid July[/FONT]
 
if you decide to clean carbs checkout "Grizzly Country Outdoors" he just did long You Tube's on cleaning carbs on 91" 60hp 3 cylinder, note: in early 90's carb style changed so yours maybe a little different, but good info especially about core plugs
