I have a what is believed to be 1986 alpha one original motor. When shifting into reverse the prop locks like it should and when adding throttle to reverse the prop spins as it should. However when shifting into forward the prop still locks like it should but when pushing throttle I get no prop turning. There were minor metal shavings on the lower unit drain plug. I thought drive shafts but reverse works fine. I then thought it could be the gear but I’m confused at the fact that the prop locks when putting into forward.
