Looking for motor temp sender device. Tested mine by shorting to engine ground and turn on switch, no alarm went off. Per the manual this is the test procedure. Please advise if I am doing it wrong and if you know where i may purchase a replace sender unit,, can't find one. again thanks in advance once again. !
 
Might not be the sender?
Try a new buzzer or horn.
Most time the buzzer can't be heard anyway, I add a car horn or motorcycle horn.
They can be heard a lot better.
If you add a new horn? then make sure it's wired right, wired wrong the horn doesn't work.
 
thank you again, I shorted the wire going back to the horn and got nothing, so I do feel it is bad, and wanted to use my sender unit to activate my new horn, should I replace the sender unit, test it,, etc.. or just buy a new sender and horn unit?,, your opinion.. thanks in advance,
 
Myself , I've never had a sending unit go bad.
I always replace the buzzer with a 12v horn from a car or motorcycle.
You can hear them a lot better than the original buzzer.
