My 1977 Mercury 850 will not stop when the ignition key is turned off. Once the symptom started: I replaced the switch and boatside wiring - no luck, rewired the engine side - no luck, just replaced the CDI - no luck. If I am reading the diagram correctly, I should be able to jumper the middle wire on the right side of the CDI to ground and it should die. That does not work.
Any ideas?
