    Default 1992 15HP Johnson 15RENM with weak spark. year corrected

    Top cylinder only jumps a 1/4" gap, lower cylinder jumps a 1/2" gap. any suggestions on what to look for next .

    Switch the orange / striped wires and report test results.----Test spark that way as motor will not run.

    Purchased two replacement coils . Sierra. Big mistake ! I got a weaker spark then the weak OEM coil. I just reordered .

    Tis not the coils fault..they only step up what they are given. Either pack capacitor is weak or stator voltage to pack is low

    Pull plug with black / yellow stripe wire apart.----Test spark.
