1969 33hp Johnson 33R69A Gear Case Gaskets

Do those dents align with blind cavities below? Not harmful in themselves, but they usually are the result of freeze damage from water trapped in the cavities.
 
Here is what I am using for testing the motor. If you look I put a line at the 6 inch above the impeller point. My bucket doesn't go that high.
 
I cannot for the life of me get a pic on this forum, no matter what
My water bucket/trashcan only goes up 4 inches above the impeller/lower gear case where it meets the exhaust tube.

It did very well.
I have to now order Stik Steering components, this boat came with no steering.

Ok I have a new one.
I am wiring a key switch up to the motor and everything works.

THE problem is when I turn the key to off the motor still runs, I cannot figure out where to run the wire to shut her down.
any ideas?

photos don't work for me on mobile. When I use a PC, they upload just fine.
