While debugging the issues with my BF130 (please see my other post and help me out!) I had read a posting on this forum by someone who was chasing an issue and had reported how badly their EAC, Electronic Air Control valve was clogged.
I should have taken a "before" image, but it probably would just have shown up as a large "black dot" in the middle of the image. I used a still plastic brush to clean off the screen inside the EAC and it came out really good. The shirt I was wearing was clean before I started this job, and it was covered with fine black soot once I got done cleaning the screen.
I can't say this would ever be a cause of a major problem -- as I'd never cleaned it in the 10 years I've had the motor, and it's one more thing to rule out as a potential problem or as a contributor to other problems.
Cleaning this is a simple 10-minute job, with no risks.
