mercruiser 3.0 serial number 4920382
the point system was removed from the engine way before i owned it.

The writing on the ignition modual is

Transpo-cn
DM1965hd-10620

Is this the correct one for my boat.

the reason i ask is the engine was rebuilt and now im trying to set the timing and it will not go into base mode.
using these directions.

That link is for the Delco EST system. It is a system that includes the whole pointless electronic ignition distributor. Your "Transpo-cn" refers to an aftermarket ignition control module. Is your distributor a DELCO EST ???

yes it is. I bought it last year because the on that was on the boat stopped working.
so i guess i bought the wrong model. Do you have the numbers for the correct one to get.

part number 4 is the module. Our host here has excellent parts diagrams

Not necessarily.... from the picture it appears to be the correct module.... HOWEVER.... I never buy "Amazon special" parts for my boats... Stick with OEM or if you can't get OEM, Sierra makes some decent stuff. As DIETER suggested, buy from our forum's sponsor.
