Upgrade an oldl B2 to a B3 duoprop

Can this be done? Should it be done? The B2 got stuck in forward and needs repairs. The hull is a Sea-Ray 25 weekander. I am thinking the duo-prop is a performance upgrade.

So can my Bravo 2 (B2) drive be converted to a B3? Ballpark cost for parts? Meaning, can I just ask my Mercruiser mechanic to upgrade my drive to B3 when he he does a 5 year check/test of the drive next fall or spring?
