2004 BF150, Factory Battery Cable Size?

Putting in a dual battery setup, may want to shorten or put new lugs on the factory battery cable so I need to know what AWG size lugs to get.


  1. Are both the positive and ground the same size?
  2. What sizes are they?

My 06 150 has 2 gauge but I am not the original owner. I also moved my battery to my center console and added a battery/switch system. The 2 gauge was more than enough to cover the run distance and have minimal voltage drop.
 
I have the factory cable which is one piece with 2 conductors. It's about 5ft long. I need to know the size Honda specified for starting amperage so I can match the dual battery setup.
