Correct Prop - 1998 Mercury Mariner

Hi all. Newbie here. I have a 1998 40HP Mariner (2 cylinder) and need to know what the standard prop is. Getting mixed responses from the ‘experts’ in my town. Boat is a 4.4m open boat. Weighs approximately 250kg.

Do you have a tach? This is the only way to know exactly what's going on - the motor is designed to run in an rpm range say 4,800 to 5,200 so you start with a prop, could be 15" pitch take it for a ride and see where it lands, it should be near the high end of that.
You'll need a starter prop which you should find on this site they are sold by pitch and diameter.
