9.9 Johnson prop question

I picked up a 1980 9.9 Johnson and it came with 2 props. It had a 9 1/4 x 10 installed and the guy gave me a 9 1/4 x 8 with it. The 8 is like new but I see on this site that it says for sailboat use. What does that mean? Will it cause the motor to over rev or what would be the problems with using it. This is for a small 14 ft Lund. Thanks for any help!
 
A 9.9 on a 14' boat it may over rev at full throttle.------With a full load and 3 people it might be the correct prop.
 
That brings me to another question then. Being as the 9.9 and the 15 are the same
powerhead would it handle the revs of a 15 without blowing up? I should probably have a tac hooked up but just curious if it would hurt to go to the revs of a 15?
