I put a small hole in the side of my Ranger, got into the dock. Fiberglass repair area of about the size of the palm of your hand. I have the gel-coat and color additive from Ranger. I only have to paint and area of about 6'' wide by 50'' long to have a small break point for a color match. I going to prime the area before I color coat and clear gel-coat. I have some lacquer high build primer in the shop. Question can I use the Lacquer base product to cover the old gel-coat?

Thanks

Mike

Ayuh,..... If yer usin' gelcoat, 'n not paint, Don't use primer,....
Just a light sandin' to provide abit of tooth, so it can stick,.....

Thanks for the information, the question is. I have an area about the size of the palm of may hand that is raw fiberglass, from the repair, and a larger area that due to sanding. The clear gelcoat is gone. So will the new gelcoat bite into the new fiberglass and sanded area with out the primer to provide the bite?

Thanks for the thoughts

Mike
