sure there is a reason...you just need to figure it out.
I'd be inclined to start with a test light on the fuel pump...the oil pressure safety switches are known to have finite lifetimes...
the oil pressure switch is usually down on the block, just above the oil pan rail, where the oil filter adapter is...i would check its function with a test light vs just changing it...you could also have an ignition issue...you need to troubleshoot the problem (identify the root cause) so you can then resolve the problem....
