Hi
We have a yamaha 250 2011 cr outboard motor.
The lower unit rotates left. It has been damaged. I wanted to know if I can install a right hand lower unit instead.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you !

The OP may very well have a four stoke F250XCA or UCA model. Digital throttle and shift. No shift cable
in the control box.

In any event, with a Yamaha and when swapping out a right hand turn gear case for a left hand turn gear case, no adjustments to a mechanical control box need to be made. It is all done within the gear case itself.

Over the years people have been asking if this can be done across all make out boards.... DTS or Mechanical.... Just trying to explain that the CR lower(LH) is built different than the SR lower(RH)....

They are different internally. From a shifting standpoint they are the same. No changes to the motor need be made.
