My buddy has a 1983 Eliminator Monaco, it’s got a 350 with a Penta 280 drive. The threads on the adjustment tube of his steering actuator (boat has power steering) stripped out and nearly sent him into the beach.
The threads are beyond repair and parts are nearly impossible to find. This is the old style steering set up, I was told Volvo only ran it for a few years before replacing it with a much more common and available actuator.
Is there a kit to upgrade out there? Or are we stuck scouring planet earth for a direct replacement?
