1994 dt65 stiff going into reverse

1994 dt 65 control goes into forward and nuetral easy but is very stiff goind into reverse it will go in with a bit of force (Its not the controller or the cables its down the motor end ) any advice would be helpful
 
yes someone turning the prop and have tried it with the motor running its just stiff and have to force it in but if i keep doing it im afraid ill break the plastic linkages
