'83 Chrysler 7.5 Sea King, cant get water pump housing off

So I decided to do an impeller replacement on an 7.5 chrysler outboard I recently got running. So I took the lower unit off and got the water pump housing unbolted and found a problem. The housing goes around both the driveshaft and shift shaft and the problem with that is the shift shaft after about 5 inches up starts to curve meaning I cant pull the pump housing straight off like you usually would. Does anybody know how I can slide the impeller housing off with that curved shift shaft causing problems? I have included a picture to give a better idea of what I am talking about.

OH NO!!! Gonna have to buy a new one.
Kidding, I think the driveshaft pulls out.
There's a pin holding the impeller in place, remove that and the driveshaft should
pull out.

So it just pulls out? How does it go back together it just slides back in place?

I got it to come out some I haven’t taken it all out yet becuase the new impeller hasn’t come yet
