    Default 12 24 volt wiring

I have a brute 756 that came with a boat that I bought. There are
2 batteries one on the left and one on the right hand side of boat.
The trolling motor only works on the 24 volt switch. Does not work
at all when on the 12volt switch.
I'm assuming the 12 volt part of the switch is faulty.
Is it normal to have just two batteries or should I add a third batt?

Trickle charger shows around 13.6 volts.
But again I think I need a NEW 12/24 volt toggle switch on the
    foot pedal.

@12V each , if you add a third battery it will be unbalanced.

Does anybody have the BOAT wiring using two batteries
To end up with 12/24 volt trolling motor?

Wire the batteries in series to achieve 24V

If you want to add batteries make sure to add only pairs in PARALLEL.

The new pair must match Ah and voltage as well.

Creating an unbalanced setup, different capacities, and different voltages will cause damage.
