1990 Johnson 150 vapor lock?

I have a 1990 Johnson 90 degree 150 crossflow and it runs great except that it occasionally cuts out when running at high RPM. Doesn't cut out all the way. Just down to idle speed. It idles for a while then I can go again. It's like it is starved for gas at times. Possibly a fuel pressure issue? Vapor lock? Any help on the best way to remedy this would be appreciated.
 
Test run with another tank and hose.------And a listing of your compression test values is a good idea for a crossflow engine.
 
take your fuel pump diaphragm out and inspect it. I had a similar issue this summer where full throttle resulted in small debris being sucked up against the mesh in the fuel pump. There wasn't much there but just enough to cause trouble at higher demand.
