Mercury/Tohatsu 30 2 stroke

Hey guys

I have a 2016 Tohatsu/mercury 30 2 stroke outboard.

I have just purchased it and before buying ran it and it all seemed fine.

I have just noticed that after running for a couple of minutes, the idle seems to raise up in revs and just sits there revving reasonably high. I have owned these in the past and I have not had one idle high etc. I have dialed back the screw inside the housing and that the tiller handle can be as far back as possible towards the turtle sign etc.

The carbs are super clean, and the idle screw inside the housing is right back, so is there something else that could be causing it to rev high at a complete idle? Vaccum leak somewhere or could it potentially be a thermostat?

I have taken a video but not sure if I can post?

Any help would be amazing on how to trouble shoot

Thanks in advance
