Volvo Penta 290 SP-A – Kicks up in reverse – reverse lock.

Hi, I have a problem that the drive occasionally lifts up in reverse; normally when docking which can be “awkward” at times.
Now… I have already replaced the complete latch mechanism including springs, pawls etc. for new, so a little stuck. Checked everything is aligned and works as it should with no obvious problems.
I have read that the steering tube and bearings etc. can be the cause of this??
I did not take the tube out when I serviced the Drive as I was concerned about dismantling, so…. Anybody had a similar issue and overhauled / replaced the steering tube, bearing and seals etc., which has rectified the problem.
Just to clarify…Hose clamps fitted exactly according to the manual.
Brand new Trim Rams, these were fitted because of leaky seals, when the drive lifts up I have to use the Trim button to lower … it doesn’t fall back down.
Lock down catches spotless and brand new. – complete OEM kit from Volvo Penta.
The Hydraulic Cylinder Anchorage Bracket also removed stripped and repainted and the lock "bar" checked for damage.
Anything else I should consider that may cause the problem?
Thanks…

Hi Many thanks for your response it is appreciated.
I "thought" I checked it but now having my doubts.
I will double check when the boat comes out for the winter.
