About to launch boat and found a leak in the short section of hose that exits the LP fuel filter and connects to stainless fuel tube. Hose has swollen on filter-side and not sealing properly. As a temporary fix for a few weeks until I can get Honda part would it be better to:
a) replace the hose with some (fairly close 5/16" ID auto fuel-line) - feels like the right size, but I'm guessing the Honda hose is metric.
b) remove the LP filter and connect the inbound fuel like direct to the stainless pipe.
I have a large Racor filter (S3227) upstream of the Honda, so the onboard LP filter seems redundant. In the 3 or 4 times I've swapped the onboard filter, it has never had any dirt or debris in it, and there is no sensor to worry about like the water-separator.
