VOLVO PENTA SX-C was running fine then wasn't. Thought I heard a gearing noise when it happened.
We were wakeboarding all day and went for the last pull and nothing, engine revved and I thought I heard a gearing zing.
Next day I adjusted the shift cable and had the prop spinning out of the water, but put it in the water and would barely spin.... then nothing.
Pulled the selector plate and things look OK.
Going to pull the outdrive tomorrow I'm guessing. Any input from the forum would be greatly appreciated.
I have to say, I bought the boat two months ago and have been running it fairly hard. It sounded like a small helicopter at idle, so I knew stuff was worn out in the drivetrain. I'm guessing it's something in the U- joint drive shaft assembly. The gimbal bearing is alsomaking noise.
