my Allmand 31's Universal 5416 threw a rod (its damaged to the point where rebuilding it is impossible) on my very first sail of owning it this a few weeks ago. I would love to just drop a "new" 5416 in, since its the only engine that would fit the weird 3 pedestal mounting system universal used, and since I want to be able to sail at least once more this season, however I am having a hard time tracking one down... every place there is one listed for sale online I have called and the people at the shops tell me "just kidding, we don't actually have what we say we have!" now, ignoring horrific business practices (these places have yet to remove the listings, even a week after being alerted to this issue) I need help. does anyone know of any place that might have one in stock? or if not, is there any other engine that uses a similar mounting setup?
