Installing a lanyard kill switch

Got an old tohatsu 15HP 2 stroke yesterday on Craigslist. I want to replace the push button with a lanyard kill switch.

I opened it up and saw under some electrical tape an unfamiliar connection between the CDI and the switch.

What's the best way to proceed?

It looks like some of the generic kill switches for sale have a ground (that I could bolt down anywhere?) and a connection that looks like it might fit into half of the black connection I have already.

The brown grounds to kill. Any switch will work. The Factory switch is:
398068300MSTOP SWITCH ASSY W/LANYARD Part 361069300 was superceded to 398068300M$51.12

Cool, thanks that worked. Now I can fall off the boat!

One thing I don't like about the setup, and I suppose all magneto engine are like this, is that when I completely remove the switch from the system (say my wires break) the engine won't stop. I guess they're all like this but it'd surprise me if one day I was out and had to disconnect the fuel to stop the motor
