What year and horsepower is my XR2

Hey guys

Can anyone tell me what year and power my xr2 is?

I know that its a race XR2, the person who sold it to me was under the impression that it was a 150, however maxrules states that its a 200.

It was in the finals for some races here years ago, so possibly a 200, though they thought it was a 150?

Max rules would suggest it is a 200hp motor 1988.

Every other xr2 on the site, have different serial number ranges, my motor doesn't fall into any of the other specified serial number ranges

My serial number is 0B290434

Try BBC forum couple of fellas there know there mercs.

Thats the 2L motor,lil porting and exhaust mod from factory. Makes about 160HP good for small fast hulls.

I have read that the black max 150, made for the bass boat market had 160hp, as it was within the 10 percent rule for a 150 motor. I would've thought the xr2 racing motor was more powerful. Unless its just the gearbox and prop that make the difference.
