2013 Df 20 Starter problem.

The electric starter spins, engages the the flywheel then drive gear stops. You can still hear the starter spinning. Seems like the bendix is slipping but I can't figure out how it can. Have not progress past visual inspection so far. What should I be looking for.
 
Problem solved. Too long of 6 gage battery cable robbed amperage, drive gear failed to stay fully engaged. Shortend 3 ft and works well.
