Terrova - Steering Issues

So, I'm out on the lake today with my son....Brand new Terrova 55 lb installed, and working great. While trolling, we got jammed up in some logs that were hidden under the water. After that, I couldn't turn when the prop was running (tried remote AND footswitch). Once I turned off the prop, the motor seemed to turn fine. Turn the prop back on, and it wouldn't turn again. I tried bringing the speed down from 10 to 8, and was able to turn while the prop was running, but didn't seem to be turning as fast as usual. Additionally, even while trolling at full speed (10), the speed was not as fast as usual (1.8 mph vs 2.4 mph on gps). Any ideas what the issue could be? Thanks in advance.....
