I have a 1996 Mercury 115 2 stroke with oil injection. One problem that I have just recently been having is a high pitched alarm that sounds constantly when I turn the key in the ignition. I've read a discussion here similar to my issue but I think mine is a little different. I thought it was my oil sensor gone bad with the float magnet being disconnected, so I disconnected the blue wires going to the sensor and the alarm still sounded. So my question is, why is my alarm still sounding? Is it still oil sensor related or is it the actual alarm sound maker that is faulty?
