Vinyl fabric to protect and allow storage over battery & fuel tank sending unit, etc

Sharing, I discovered a simple cheap way to protect sensitive wires and so allow storage on top of and around then safely.
Such as my boat battery and fuel tank float sending unit.

I used a good quality vinyl fabric patch I had. Use a small Phillips screw driver to punch holes where screws will attach. Used screws that are already on the boat.

For the battery compartment, a big rectangular sheet attached at one end under the seat screws, allows me to flap it up to access my battery and fuse box. Flapped down allows me to store some rope on top of it safely.

For my fuel tank sending unit wires, I cut a round piece a bit larger than the access plate. Added 5 washers for all 5 screws so the vinyl doesn't twist when tightening. Now I can store things by this without the worry wires are going to get damaged!

See pic attached.

Take care
