Hi all - trying to get anyone who can recommend a cam for a stock 383 rebuild? Heads are 906 stockers - so in the .45 and .465 lift at 1.5- I did measure a lobe of 3 and about 3.0/3.1 (4.5/4.65) - but thats all I could get. Any shelf cams that would work with stock programming?

I did find a Crane 104224 reference here: (cant post link)

Lift: Intake @Cam 301 @Valve 452 All Lifts are based
on zero lash and theoretical rocker arm ratios.
Exhaust @ Cam 310 @Valve 465
Rocker Arm Ratio 1.50

Cam Timing: -- @---
Lift: Opens Closes ADV Duration
Intake --- --- 270 °
Exhaust --- --- 276 °

Cam Timing: TAPPET @.050
Lift: Opens Closes Max Lift Duration
Intake 0.0 BTDC 34.0 ABDC 107 214 °
Exhaust 47.0 BBDC (7.0) BTDC 117 220 °

This information is from bobl/FTM.
Thanks goes to him.

Not happy to drop near 600 on a roller cam. Other places ive looked seem to indicate around 218-224 dur..

Eyeing these 2 cams at the moment - both wide LSA .. little short on the dur and not too aggressive.. will keep digging

Would this one work?

This was used on a 350 pre vortec with 906 castings (vortec heads).
Runs very strong!

Note the higher lift on Exhaust, Vertec heads have great intake port out of the box for the most part. The exhaust is not as good without porting, thus the higher lift.

Note: when adjusting rocker arms, adjust 1/2 past zero lash. Most say 3/4 so its up to you. 1 full turn is used on bone stock 350's.
