I have a 1996 non vortec 5.7 in my Wellcraft with an alpha 1 out drive. The motor blew and I’m looking to replace with a slightly older remanned motor.
My motor has a 14” flywheel with a dampener. The motor I’m looking at putting in has a 12.75 flywheel with a 2 piece rear main seal. This motor was supposedly mated to an alpha one before being remanned.
Can I use this motor as is? Or do I have to swap flywheels and put the dampener back on?
Do all Alpha ones have the same size/spline drive shaft?
