I'm replacing the seal on the tilt mechanism and I cannot locate the original two-way seal (0303804). The replacement seal (0321467) is a one-way seal. When attempting to use two of these seals, one to keep oil in and one to keep water out, I find together they are 1/16 thicker than the original seal and when I install the tilt gears it pops the outer seal out.
Is it ok to only use one seal with the seal direction to keep oil in?
My problem statement is water keeps getting in the mechanism, working its way up into the tilt motor causing me to have to replace it almost every year.
I would love to get my hands on the original part.
