He said it ran perfect last time he used it.
It's been stored upright in his garage for the last 30
years. Very solid clean. I figure it's a 1970's and there's
probably no parts availabe. I'm going to tinker around
With it and see if I can get it running.
Water pump impeller first. Could I maybe find a impeller
that's a close fit and make it work?

Sometimes Sears a few parts like seals and gaskets.
A good marine store or ebay may have an impeller.
The motor wasn't built by Sears, just the name plate.
There are places on the internet and ebay that buy old motors and sell their parts.

I could hardly believe it but the impeller that was in it is in very good condition so I put
it back in and see what will happen. So I went through the top and bottom
and I tried to start it and fuel came out of the exhaust so I have to
Remove the carb again and see what's going on but over all
this motor is in great shape and I have not spent a penny on it.
We'll see

Good catch. Seems I managed to blow that piece into the trash can.
I guess that's why I was saw fuel spill out the exhaust and the front
of the carburetor. I FABED another one from some rubber material
I had and reassembled it back in the hole.
Put the carb back on.....pulled the starter rope and it STARTED RIGHT UP.
I killed it immediately.
Question
What did that RED rubber piece do other than cover
the hole on the carb and the hole on the block??
Will my flat round BLACK one I made work....you think?
Or maybe it acts like a fuel diaphram?
Thanks for response.

Is that a Ted Williams badged kicker, white cowl cover?
I still have a 5.5, from about 1970. My dad bought it brand new, along with a car topper tinny from Sears.
They were made by Eska, carb kits are still available.

That wee rubber bladder / fuel pump element is available as a spare part.---Also used on a limited number of Johnson outboards.

1972 eska made sears 7hp.
White top with green bottom.
Two inch tall impeller.
Tecumseh motor.
Racerone
What is this rubber piece for?
Where can I buy it?

Ok I get it....dont understand it but I get it. Seen a lot of fuel pumps but
not like this one. Anyway my FLAT black piece of rubber I put
there must be working because the motor starts right up and runs.
Anyway I'm getting a new carb kit and impeller now that I know
it runs and seems solid.
The 20 year old impeller it came with would only pump water
after I turned it around....forward side is now the reverse side
and the reverse side is now the forward side.

Installed new carb kit, new fuel pump @ 45 degrees, float @ .171
mixture screw 1 turn, 24:1 fuel as well as a new impeller.
Starts and runs perfect. May keep or sell....we'll see.
Good for years to come. STICKY NOTES helped very much.
Now to my next project
