J60ttleo fixed spark issue but now won’t run without fast idle lever up

Replaced timer base and power pack on my j60ttleo with a slightly different power pack and timer base from a slightly year Johnson 60hp. (It didn’t have the white with black stripe and also the yellow with red stripe wire coming out of power pack)(timer base didn’t have a black wire on the plug, it was only a 4 prong)Anyways it fixed my spark issue but now my motor dies if I don’t have the fast idle lever up. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue? Is it related to my swapping of slightly different parts? Also FYI the motor never had any issues idling before it started having a spark issue. Any help would be great, cheers!
