I have a 1989 454 carbureted Crusader with new electric fuel pump (carter)starts and runs about 5 seconds then quits. Oil cutoff switch is new. If I wire a lead from the positive post directly to battery it still shuts off after running the engine about 5 sec. Could I be losing ground? Defective pump? Is there a relay in the system? Fuel pump runs fine when ignition switch is on, starts fine then dies. It will start again but same issue. Oil pressure is 50. Any help greatly appreciated!
