My 15'6 Avon/Zodiac 4.65 Rib is in great condition, but rides rough unless we weight the bow. The factory side console location and rear bench seat (you drive from) seems too far back.
I see a ton of crab boats with the helm in the bow. I know this is for work and opening deck space, but it seems like a logical solution to my ride issue.
I am thinking of moving the console to the center of the boat (balance weight), removing the bench seat (drop weight and increase space), add a pedestal or leaning post for the helm.
Does anyone have any experience with reworking a RIB helm location?
