My problem is that the Check Engine Light comes on and the horn keeps beeping. I have a 1999 Mercury 225hp. Optimax engine on my Lund 2100 Baron. Last year the engine ran flawlessly no problems at all. This year I started it up while it sat on my driveway with the garden hose and earmuffs. The light comes on the instant the engine starts and of course the beeps! I'm not getting any water out of the pee hole, and I am wondering if my problem may be my water pump. Is this a common symptom if the engine senses it is not getting enough water? If any of you have had this problem or know why it is happening, please respond to my post, I would like to go fishing soon.
