Damn... I created a post and the site kicked me out.. oh well. Here is the short version.
I purchased a new to me 1980s Johnson 115. Moving it off of my trailer it fell and hit a tree root of all things. Unfortunately it bent and cracked the lower cowl. I have read you can't bend back cast aluminum like steel... it will break. You need to anneal it. I managed to heat it up and get it looking better but the cowl/engine hood still doesn't fit. Anyone had to deal with this? Straightening bent cast aluminum? Thanks
