3rd season with 2014 Chaparral 257 SSX, with Volvo Penta 320hp (v8-320-c-a). Just crossed 300 hours, and on the next start a 'check engine service required!' message showed on the tach, accompanied by steady tone alarm (not beeping), which stops when down arrow hit, or boat is started. Engine status lights turn off when started. Boat starts and runs fine (not running rough, no limit on speed, etc.). Both batteries replaced 15 hours ago, and charge is good. Temp (from dash panel only) and oil pressure fine, steering fluid and oil both a little low and topped off. Wondering if this could be a maintenance interval reminder? I haven't had a diagnostic tool plugged in (yet), my marina doesn't have one for V-P. Any guidance greatly appreciated!
