I just had my upper and lower units replaced on my 1982 sea ray bowrider and now the steering is backwards but with engine off it seems as the unit turns the right way but when on the water left is right and right is left. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem????

just swap the steering worm and segment gear from your old upper to the new upper.

Why OMC made LH and RH worm gears is a bit of a mystery but easy swap
