MY 1999 DT5 was not peeing very good (intermitting) so I decided to change out the impeller. Removed the gearcase and pulled out the old impeller and saw that it pretty much looked new. Decided these outboards (haven't messed with many Suzuki's) must not stream well but put in the new impeller anyways. Got it back together and put it in the test tank and nothing. No water. Pulled the foot and after carefully checking the pump decided to check the pick up tube...shot compressed air through and pretty much nothing. Went from the top and the bottom, even tried water.
Having a hard time seeing up there but I think maybe it has a hole or something. Anyone ever replaced one? Is that even possible with the power head on? Any advice or if anyone has the breakdown I would shirly appreciate it.
